16.5c Greek and other non-Latin words.

In general literature, the letter sign (dots 5-6) precedes each word of a passage consisting of three or fewer Greek or other non- Latin words. In passages of more than three such words, a double letter sign is used before the first word and a single letter sign is used before the last word. Print italics should be ignored. When a single or double letter sign is used before such words, this usage must be explained on a special symbols page (to be studied later).
